How to choose the right stool height
Measure from the floor to the underside of your worktop and subtract 20–25cm to find your ideal stool height. Use the footprint and seat dimensions below to decide how many stools will fit comfortably.
Most kitchens have an underside height of around 87cm, which gives our standard stool height of 67cm when allowing the recommended 20–25cm of legroom.
Your ideal height may be slightly higher or lower depending on your kitchen and how you prefer to sit—higher like a drinks bar, or lower like a table or desk. If you are unsure, send us your measurements and we will be happy to advise.
How many stools will fit?
We recommend the Large seat when space allows because it is comfortable for more people. The Farmhouse, Townhouse and Classic Large models all use our 38 × 28cm seat. If space is limited—or you need to fit more stools—the Classic Regular seat is 35 × 25.5cm. The Manor House has an even larger seat, measuring 40cm wide and 28cm or 32cm deep to the backrest.
Allow at least 10cm between stools at their widest point so they remain comfortable and practical to use. Check the “footprint” measurement in each product description—this is the width of the stool at the bottom of its legs—to calculate how many will fit.
