How to choose the right stool height
We are frequently asked what height we would recommend for kitchen furniture. As a guide, most people are comfortable with 20-25cm of legroom between the top of the stool and the underside of the counter surface and most kitchens are designed with a counter height of 87cm to the underside, this gives us our standard stool height of 67cm.
Of course this may be slightly higher or lower for different people and kitchens. You may wish to sit slightly higher, as if at a drinks bar or slightly lower, as if at a table or desk. Whatever you decide, just get in touch to let us know.
How many stools will fit? -
We recommend the Large seat when space allows because it is comfortable for more people. The Farmhouse, Townhouse and Classic Large models all use our 38 × 28cm seat. If space is limited—or you need to fit more stools—the Classic Regular seat is 35 × 25.5cm. The Manor House has an even larger seat, measuring 40cm wide and 28cm deep to the backrest.
Allow at least 10cm between stools at their widest point so they remain comfortable and practical to use. Check the “footprint” measurement in each product description—this is the width of the stool at the bottom of its legs—to calculate how many will fit.
